NSS Program Officer, Government medical college, Ongole – Dr.B.Thirumala Rao pointed out that drug addiction is not only a problem at district level but also at state, country and global level. Youth and adults of a country contributing the 65% of the population and they are playing a major role in academic growth of a country. Substance abuse among these leads to decreased performance in their respective fields overall, it impacts the economic growth of a country. Substance abuse is more dangerous than the corona virus impact in a country. Substance abuse is catching the mindset of the people and altering their behaviour permanently and it is like a mind game playing by youth & adults of this country. There are 3 types of quotients, for a human. One is IQ and is Emotional quotient and third is Spiritual quotient. Now a day’s youth studying in professional medical, engineering colleges and adults involved in skilled works, they are well versed with IQ, but these generations are not having required emotional quotient. Anger, stress, frustration, difficulties, anxiety, depression, emotions are not bearing by present generations and not finding solutions and they have to knows how to control their emotions.
